As is right now, once you are in game though it can be set to an amazing experience and I wont play it any other way. Subnautica VR gives players a sense of thalassophobia. Full VR Motion support with controllers is comming in time. VR excels especially in supporting horror games that play to our fear of the unknown. I did, however, play the whole game in VR with my brother using the mod (without motion controls / SubmersedVR). The VR addition to this game was pretty half-a$$ed but its being worked on and finished by the modding community. The multiplayer mod is just for the OG Subnautica and hasnt been updated yet for the latest version (which is what SubmersedVR uses). so here is the options file from my pc that already has the box checked, so you can just copy/paste this in and you will be good to go -īe sure to place this in(delete the current Options.bin file in there, or overwrite it), that will load the game with the "Gaze Look" box checked already for you so keyboard and mouse will work.
Notice it doesnt say 'Play in OTHER VR Mode' like yours does. Hey man the game needs "Gaze Look" checked in order to play with mouse in keyboard, in VR mode, unfortunatley by default, its turned off and you cant turn it on without a gamepad. When I start the game from my Steam library (NOT Big Picture mode), a pop-up asks whether to 'Play Subnautica' or 'Launch Subnautica in VR mode' and it always launches perfectly on my monitor when I choose the first option.
